David William “Bill” Sagle, age 90 of Zanesville and Naples, Florida, died Sunday February 14, 2010 at the AVOW Hospice in Naples. He was born December...
David William “Bill” Sagle, age 90 of Zanesville and Naples, Florida, died Sunday February 14, 2010 at the AVOW Hospice in Naples. He was born December 28, 1919 in Roseville and was the son of the late Roy and Lucy Tinker Sagle.
Bill was a graduate of the Meredith Business College and attended the engineering program at Ohio University. During World War II, he was an instructor in the use and maintenance of Norton bombsites. He retired from the Newark Air Force Missile Guidance System Station as an industrial engineer. Following his retirement, he was a consultant for the Northrop Corporation. He was a longtime active member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church where he had served as a deacon. Bill was an avid golfer and tennis player, and was a member of the High Point golf league in Naples. He was also a member of the Roseville Masonic Lodge, the Coast Guard Auxiliary and the “Meat Loaf Gang” which met at Colony Square Mall. Bill was a former Boy Scout leader and had also taught sailing at OUZ.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Joan Malinda Watt Sagle; daughter, Malinda “Linda” (Robert “Bob”) Graham of Zanesville; son, Jeff Pitcock of Zanesville, five grandchildren: Joshua (Marianne) Graham, Allison (Scott) Lepi, Brianna Tignor, Louis Pitcock and David Pitcock; great granddaughters: Olivia and Karys Tignor and Lilli and Miah Lepi; and best friend, Arthur Bruno.
A grandson, Noah Graham preceded him in death.
Family will receive friends 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Friday February 26, 2010 at Bryan & Snider Funeral Home 2318 Maple Ave. Zanesville and 10:30 AM till time of service at 11:30 AM Saturday February 27, 2010 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church 128 S. 7th Street, Zanesville.
Memorial contributions may be given to Genesis Hospice and Palliative Care, 713 Forest Ave., Zanesville, or Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 128 S. 7th St., Zanesville.
