Frederick (Fred) Francis Noll, 90 of Zanesville, Ohio surrounded by his loving wife and family passed away peacefully at 12:22 am, Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at the Genesis Healthcare E.R., following a sudden illness.

Fred was born November 5, 1931 in Zanesville, Ohio. He was the son of Walter F. Noll and Freda Brahler Noll. Fred was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic church, Korean War navy veteran, member of Knights of Columbus #505, and was on Zanesville City Council for 4 years. He owned and operated Noll’s Flattop Shop for 20 years and the Golden Comb for 23 years.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carole Jean Helfrick Noll, whom he married April 5, 1956; son-in-law David Vocke of Towson, Maryland; Sandy (William) Dinan of Westerville, Ohio; Daniel (Sherri) Noll of Columbus, Ohio; and Kelly (Dean) Schockling also of Westerville; eleven wonderful grandchildren, and six special great-grandchildren; brother Tom (Kathy) Noll of Bonita Springs, Florida; sister Joan (Fritz) Weidig of Zanesville; and brother-in-law Dave Pfeifer. Fred was preceded in death by his parents; beloved daughter, Robin; and sister, Jane Pfeifer.

Family and faith were everything to Fred. Fred was a devoted husband and caregiver to Carole. He was so proud of his children and grandchildren, loving to spend time with them. Always full of life and energy, he had a way to make you feel welcome. There was always laughter when you were with Fred.

During his 43 year career as a barber, Fred loved his job and and always had a joke to tell his customers. He retired in 1997 then enjoyed being a snowbird in Florida. He was loved by so many friends, customers, neighbors, and fellow pickleball players. Fred had many hobbies and thrived on learning new things. He was a bluebird watcher, handyman, carpenter, and loved working in his workshop. He had weekly neighborhood volleyball nights at the house when the kids were growing up. He was an avid bridge player, loved euchre, and was passionate about playing pickleball. The special friendships he made were invaluable to him. Fred was one of a kind, lived life to the fullest, and was an inspiration to so many.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Monday, April 18, 2022 at the Bryan and Hardwick Funeral Home, 2318 Maple Ave., Zanesville, Ohio. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am, Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 925 E Main St, Zanesville, OH with Reverend JCP Sullivan as celebrant.
