Sharon G. Downing

Sharon G. Downing, 72 of Grove City, formerly of Zanesville died at 10:32 PM Friday, January 18, 2019 at her home following a five-month courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was born on March 30, 1946 in Zanesville the daughter of Bernard Burke and Viola Fenner Burke.
Sharon was a stay at home mom for many years and then worked over 30 years at Kenstar Pharmacy. She volunteered for 40 years at the Grove City Cancer Thrift Shop in many different roles. She enjoyed travelling, especially to the beach and cruises. She loved to spend time with family and friends, and made it a priority to be involved with the lives of the grandchildren and great grandbaby. She loved Buckeye football with tailgating and watching the game always a big event at their house.
She is survived by her husband, James "Jim" B. Downing; a daughter, Renee Miklas (Mark); a son, Brent Downing; her grandchildren, Kelly Miklas, Kyle Miklas (Becca), Evan Downing, Alexandra Downing and a great granddaughter, Rylee Miklas; two brothers, William Burke (Diane) and Donald Burke (Dorothy); a special niece, Holly Boniphant (Robert) and many other nieces and nephews. Sharon was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by a brother, Kenneth Burke and a sister, MaryAnn Boniphant.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM Tuesday January 22nd and one hour prior to service time which will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday January 23rd with Rev. Ken Howard officiating at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home. Burial will conclude at the Zanesville Memorial Park.
